So the Foggys hit the town at Downtown Disney after an afternoon of Thunderstorms and torrential rain, but since this is Florida it last for a few hours and is very very hot.
We went for a wonderful meal at Rainforrest Cafe, then off to see La Nuba at Cirque du Soleil which is still amazing after all these years (we saw it over 4 years ago originally) apart from the clowns which are rubbish.
Mrs Foggy looked sensational in a sexy little black number and kicking sparkling black sandals, Mr Fogg even made an effort to look smart. We hit the nightlife of Downtown Disney which is now non-existent, with them catering for kiddies even at 11.30 at night, so no chance to boogie for us, but who cares when you are in love.
Another fun day in the land of excessive paranoia. Here’s Mrs Fogg moments before being arrested for being HOT (well she wasn’t arrested, but she is hot, mind you it was 87 degrees so no wonder).
Is it really Wednesday already? Time flies. Yesterday we tested the villa pool and I can tell you it is cracking. Heated and we bought toys for it. Today was a slow get up followed by a long lounge in the pool before heading to Downtown Disney for more food and a wander before it started raining. Boo. Still, the perfect excuse for Hagen Das.
So this morning we took a wander into nostalgia and went to the local IHOP for pancakes. We used to do this regularly when we previously came to Florida. The restaurant is it’s usual cheap and tacky delightful place complete with a new fragrant air of urine (apparently the carpet has just been washed and that’s the clean smell!). So, what to eat? Gotta be pancakes. Mr Fogg went for the buttermilk stack of 5. A healthy option apparently since if is served with Sugar Free syrup- and still the Americans don’t get irony!
Yep we is eatin again, well Mrs Foggy is at one of our all time favourite themed restaurants Bubba Gumps. We have now been to three of these bad boys Hong Kong, Tokyo with Stu & Jen and now at Universal City Walk in Orlando.
Well here we are in the land of HOT, after a delay of an hour for take off(probably drunk pilot trying to sober up) we took off on an un-eventful flight, less than average food and less than average service, although we still managed 2 glasses of champagne each, 4 glasses of wine and 2 baileys. After 8 hours 30 mins we landed in Orlando, breezed through customs (they had no interest in the silly over paranoid ESTA document you now have to complete). Picked up the car, a Chrysler Seabring and headed for the house.
Yes the holiday is on, this is me and the Mrs sat waiting to get to the airport. Got the moaning couple sat in front whinging about everything, not least of which with Mrs Foggy sat coughing and proclaiming in a loud voice how she wishes she had never gone to Mexico (oh how we laughed).
So you know it’s gonna be a fun night when you are off to a concert at the MEN and there ain’t a queue to get in, when the audience are the same age as those who go to see Neil Diamond and you talk to anyone under 30 and they ain’t heard of him.
Here she is über geek chatting to the wicked witch of the west (yup mum in law) in that there oirland about the Good Ole US of A and a potential trip around it.
