Having read the book “Devil in the White City” I was excited when I realised you could visit the very first skyscraper designed by Burnham and Root in the 1880’s! Cue dragging Mr Fogg to a 45 min geek tour of The Rookery building on S Salle St.

We saw the atrium designed by Root himself and the library on the 11th floor where they planned the Chicago World Fair. My inner geek now satisfied its off to find lunch!
