Walking in Sunshine

What a lovely bright and sunny day today for walking around Tokyo.

The world famous 5 way pedestrian crossing, Everything Sony, ladies with their “man fans” to stay cool, pastries at the forum and spicy noodles for tea (where we all ended up wearing the sauce on our clothes.

An early finish at 6.30pm so we can all recover from the flight, then up for another mega walk tomorrow.

H O T

Well here we are in sunny, scorching, bloody sweltering Tokyo at a slightly impressive 34 degrees.

Really good journey on the uber accurate to the second Japanese railways and checked in to the Hotel Mercure, Ginza.

Hazel has her own room and we have left her to try drying out after the 20 minute walk from the station with full backpack in the heat.

So showers and aircon all round before braving the midday sun.

It’s 12.30pm here which means 2.30 am in the UK, so that’s a straight 19hr stint and to avoid jet lag we have to keep going to 10pm Tokyo time.

Nice view from the windows

And our pokey bedroom

Tokyo or Bust

Fantastic flight, big comfy seats and a safe landing at Narita Airport.

First “I forgot something” casualty, Nellie forgot to bring her hairbrush.

Nippon, Nippof

Stage 2 the airport, where Mrs Fogg accidentally found the car park much to the ridicule from the occupants of the car.

Rucksacks all caged we are now queueing at the totally disorganised T5.

Seem to have lost a child already!

The YooF of Today

The Japan adventure begins.

It’s a year since we drunkenly suggested taking Nellie with us to Japan and Mrs Fogg has done her usual geeky tour guide bit by planning the blooming lot.

So now it’s stage one, off to crash at the Fink house and collect said teen for what will hopefully be a memorable trip. As usual we’ve been packed since a week ago, so a quick catch up on the phone whilst driving down, Mrs Fink admitted Nellie actually wasn’t packed and her clothes are currently in the washing machine, uh oh,

So either Nellie will be returning home with an up at dawn approach or we’ll be returning home after giving in to the YooF of today approach. Let battle commence.

Happy Birthday

Look what gorgeous Mr Fogg got me. A beautiful trough and plants for the garden.

I’m feeling all zen. Might even comb the gravel.

Not doing too bad for 29 again!
