Now this is an odd place…..
It’s in the middle of nowhere in Indiana and home to a community of Amish. Our sat nav brought us on a rather interesting tour through their back yards.

So Shipshewana caters to a certain age group we think(SAGA anyone)! It’s FULL of kitsch craft stores, antiques (translate to meaning other people’s junk), crap bric-a-brac and the obligatory buggy tours in an Amish carriage or two. The place is plain weird and would not be amiss on an episode of the X Files or Louis Theroux
That said, super buffet at the only real restaurant in town at $16 a head and all you can eat Amish food that’s a bargain). And some super cool views of a very different way of life without cars.

Anyhoo, stuff the buggy, I got a hot chauffeur.

Last night we stayed between Sandusky and Milan (pronounced Meal-on apparently, so not to be confused with a placed in Europe). It’s claim to fame in Milan is that it was the birthplace and childhood home of Thomas Edison.

Next stop is 188 miles away in Shipshewana (did you get the clue??)
And today we are off here

Interesting fact, it is the world HQ for

This interesting fact has been brought to you by Mrs Fogg
It is just fish and chips

Yet again the only fish on sale is Perch
Mrs Fogg doing her history thing in Madison Ohio.

Welcome to Erie, Pennsylvania famous for (well nothing much actually). It was a booming place in the 1700s but tanked in the 1960s and 70s and never really recovered. Today it’s got a regenerated harbour area for posh yacht owners and visitors and a super conference complex. But, the views of the lake are ace and the hotel great. It’s also got a really fab infinity pool which we just had to test out

This is the south side of Lake Erie, so by the time we have finished our tour we will have nearly travelled the whole edge of the lake.
I’ve just watched the sunset, now watching a storm come in over the water.

Mr Fogg is fast asleep after our 4 hr 120 mile ride today. Tomorrow it’s another long one too and getting closer to the end of the holiday. Boo!
One more example of tacky.
This is a local sweet emporium in Niagara CasVegas, no doubt selling “Crown of Thorn(tons chocolates)”, jelly nails, 30 silver coated chocolate coins and the “Spear(mint) of Destiny”.
