Percy Thrower Eat Yer Heart Out

what a glorious day, out on the hog, meeting the Mrs for a spot of brekky, then off to find an antiques store near here so that Mrs Fogg can have a peruse (yawn).

Next stop was Langlands so that we could pick up some much needed weeds (sorry shrubs), that I can have the pleasure of digging holes for them. Back then to dig some holes and also straighten up the previous owners boss eyed attempt at a straight lawn, either that or they ran out of interest (just like the upside down toilet seat).

And now at 7.30 we can finally sit and relax before bed and then work.

25 degrees ain’t bad tho!

Cinco de Mayo

20130506-000025.jpg

Happy Cinco de Mayo or 5th of May! Whilst on a trip to Boston in 2010 we were in a Lobster shack (yum), we were wished a happy Cinco de Mayo by the waitress (no doubt on a tip bolster, little did she know we was Brits!).

Turns out our colonial cousins will celebrate a toilet flush if it was a day or so ago and you can have a beer as part of the celebration. So Cinco de Mayo is remembered because of the Pueblan revolt against the French (gotta raise a glass to that) in 1862, fascinating, now get me a corona and drop in a lime.

Cheers and Happy 5 May.

May the Force be with You

What a wonderful weekend, nice weather, a trip to the CaddieFrogs for a food fest, Healds Hall restaurant for a wonderful evening (with my beautiful wife, who looked knock-out as always) and then more snax and drinks and more drinks and more food, good grief we’re gonna need more than a bike for Route 66 after that grub!

Today was a lazy rise before visiting a Swedish retailer for ideas on household bits, my oh my isn’t that hell! And then back to the CaddieFrogs for a superb meal (always feel like part of the family which is nice).

Tonight it was so nice we strolled the canal (in flooded of course) and sat outside listening to the world on a beautiful evening.

Yes, up above the streets and houses Rainbows climbing high. Really hated those glove puppets as a kid, a one handed pink hippo, a brown thing with a zip and some fat bloke in a bears costume. And don’t even get me started on Rod Jane and Freddy with their complicated love triangle life story.

But I digress, apparently this was a pretty spectacular rainbow yesterday, pot of gold in the next field and yet we missed it! Yet it has an almost other worldy eerie glow to it, like a sci-fi monster firing a ray into the ground.

So despite the polyfilla house with more holes than a cheese from Swiss land, it is a pretty awesome view (oh and those of you wondering we have now replaced the upside down toilet seat fitted by the previous owners, aka Mr & Mrs DIY).

Rambling over, carry on with your day.

BBQ Oh Yes

The First BBQ of 2013, and spring and our new house. Yum Yum, pork chops, fillet and burnt veg, what more could you want to welcome in the summer?

You’ll be interested (or maybe not) that Mrs Fogg is now fully kitted up for our tour of Route66 (helmet, boots, jacket gloves and bike jeans), oh all those sights she won’t see as I refuse to stop at historic crap! (Let’s be honest history and the US go back about a minute).

I had the Hog out yesterday and boy did it feel good with the wind in my errr scalp!

We Went APE

Hurrah, after almost 18 months I finally used my Christmas voucher from 2011 at Go Ape and my was that fun. After a 15 minute lesson on how to not die you are left to tackle 6 tree climb, cargo nets, Tarzan swings and zip wires.

A fun packed 3 hours and even more amazing was Mrs Fogg doing the lot and not wimping out even in the cargo nets.

If you get the chance, you really should Go Ape.

The Queen’s Speech 2013

20130413-201414.jpg

The moment you have all been waiting for is here, the Queen’s speech 2013 is finally here from her roadshow Up t’ North to visit the common folks. To make it a little easier for those of us who don’t have super fast broadband, slow broadband or even a sniff of what broadband should be like we have had to cut, edit, trim and postage stamp this monumental event. Please be patient for a world class performance from Mrs Fink with a slightly witty script from the Hogg Meister Mr Fogg.

Please enjoy what was simply a well planned and perfectly executed speech by Her Maj on the Christmas Take 2.

To vie this gem go and look at the video gallery form OurOneBigAdventure.com

And look for the Queen’s Speech 2013 Christmas Take 2

Enjoy!

5 to 66

Strange Title I know but it is only 5 weeks to Route66, oh my gosh. It has been decided that Mrs Fogg will be putting her life in my hands, by being a pillion biker chic (life insurance is all updated now).

Mrs Fogg took a white knuckle ride on the back of my hog (apparently I needed an extra 6psi to accommodate her, somehow I was expecting more). So now we need to kit the biker babe out with a Harley helmet, jacket, boots and gloves.

Picture the scene, me in the front, Mrs Foggy sat in the arm chair at the back punching me to tell me there is something historic and lovelly to look at, me sat there grinning to myself pretending that I haven’t heard her. Ah bliss.

For the last two nights driving home up the country lane, this amazing site has been flying alongside my car for half a mile.

Truly amazing site to behold.
