Balls Please

So a chill-out day by the pool followed by Crazy (or tame) golf, where of course Mr Fogg whooped ass (a sexy score of 50, Mrs Fogg scoring 51 and poor ole Kev crawling into the low 70’s). After a strenuous game time for ribs (oh yum) and then back to have our butts handed to us by Mrs Fogg (aka the Ringer) at several games of pool (even tho she was sozzled).

The smoke billowing across the highway is an advertisement for the rib shack (not dangerous at all). And yes the crazy golf have a plastic goose to make it look realistic.

The margarita swimming pool was just too much to handle

Book Sanctuary and Hats

A very relaxing few days, visiting what I was informed was a book sanctuary, but was actually a big overgrown garden and then a relax watching the world spin

Tonight Crazy Golf (just us to be done in the 97 degree heat) and tomorrow is the last chance to see La Nuba at Cirque de Soleil since it finishes this year

We’d love to show you the pictures but it looks like the latest software update has broken that for now, boooooo

So here we are all ready to check out of the Saphire Falls hotel at Universal (awesome hotel) and ready to move to the apartment. can you tell the adult room and teenagers room, eh Kev?

Back to work

On a grey Tuesday on the train

I’ve said goodbye to Kevin at the station this morning and now back to work, it will be very quiet tonight without Mr Fogg and Kevin.

Counting down to Mr Fogg return on Thursday now…

Welcome to the jungle

So Kevin and I are now back in York after a smooth trip.  Unfortunately a drizzly sky and back to a jungle of a garden.
We sooo miss the Las Vegas heat and big skies, so are planning the next trip.

I can see a weekend gardening event coming….

Was it really only 2 weeks??

Arizona here we come

Today was a 234 mile drive to Holbrook, passing through some small towns in New Mexico and on the I40 following the line of Route 66.

Our stay at the Sandia Peak Motel last night was comfortable but the area itself not good.

On then past lava fields

And The Continental Divide

Stopping then for a quick break at a gas station and this funky sign

Since we were passing we called in via the Painted Desert and Petrified Forest.  Simply beautiful scenery and a lovely drive

US 84 to Santa Fe

One hell of a beautiful road.  Well worth the drive out to Santa Fe.  Here are some awesome pics Kevin took today of our drive:

That’s Mr Fogg above, cruisin’ on his Harley

Plus some pretty roadside flowers

We’re famous!!

After our wonderful visit to Croc Lile at his studio in Amarillo where Croc transforms the paint flecks from Cadillac Ranch, Croc has posted about our visit on his Facebook site.

This is one gallery not to be missed as you pass through Amarillo!

Detours and Tours

Today was the start of the road trip from Chicago to Pontiac.  In theory a plain sailing   (Yeah right!) 85 mile navigation out of busy Chicago and down through Joliet onwards to Pontiac.

Kevin and I in the car and MrFogg on the bike.

Which would have been fine until we lost Mr Fogg somewhere on the four lane (and very busy) I294.  Cue a rather stressful hour of “where the hell did he go” until we finally made contact on the phone to find he’d gone a little too far south on the I294 instead of turning off south west into the I55 towards Joliet.  So Kevin and I pulled up in Romeoville and sat watching traffic, counting cars, school buses, Harley’s and cross legged waiting for him.  An hour or so later…..thank goodness, he’d found the route and popped into sight!

On then for a very good run all the way to Pontiac, without us managing to lose Mr Fogg this time.

With early evening closing in we finally pulled into our motel for the night.  It certainly isn’t the Ritz……nor is it quite the Bates Motel but it’s clean and has beds.

Tomorrow we will go explore lovely downtown Pontiac, a favourite from our last trip.
