Downtown Milwaukee

Home to a statue of the Fonzie

Heyyy

and look at this where do we pick to eat! Right next to the hotel where this is about to happen

How super.

A Fun Packed Day

Some amazing facts at the museum tour and the opportunity to visit the “archives” where they hold some very special bikes.

But also a chance to see some new things such as the Harley Livewire, their first electric bike

And the Harley Davidson pickup truck (who knew, after all it is the Harley Davidson Motor Company not just motorbikes)

The replica of the first HD Factory (our log cabin is bigger)

And some of the custom choppers

And then a chat with the law and their super snazzy Harley’s

So tomorrow it’s the ferry and trying to figure out how to tie the trike down!

Harley Envy

Unbelievable! So Mr Fogg with his dayglo t-shirt had loads of admirers today wanting one.

We even got ourselves captured on the Polaroid wall of fame. Just look at the young Brit couple. How handsome do we look eh?

Six hours of wandering around and my feet are shattered now so back to the hotel for a rest. Later it’s live music and bar food.

Welcome to Bike Fest

Milwaukee is the home to Harley and here we are at the 115th anniversary complete with our own rivet on the wall

This place is awesome, after spending 2.5 hours on the guided tour looking at some awesome machines including the terminators FatBoy

And watching Mrs Fogg ride a Harley with stabilisers

After food it’s time to investigate things to buy

Factory Tour, What Factory Tour

So all excited and raring to do a tour of the HD factory to see where and how they are built, nope. It looks like the “behind the scenes tour” Mrs Fogg has booked, is actually a behind the museum tour and nothing to do with the factory. Is this revenge for museum hell!

Does this face even look sorry

Wild Horses

Welcome to Milwaukee, the home of Harley Davidson since 1903. After an unforgettable taxi ride from Chicago centre out to Countryside with the taxi driver who had to keep stopping people to ask for directions and had no satnav to find anything, Pratt!

After about an hour and a half we were winging our way round the parking lot trying to figure the trike (it is such a different ride to a motor bike) and the satnav. Yes here we are at the 115th celebration at Harley Davidson for 2 days before heading onto a ferry across the lake towards Canada.

Factory tours, bike bits, toys, t-shirts, HogHeaven (this will teach Mrs Fogg for taking me round historic buildings)

And the Iron Horse Hotel is awesome

Road trip commenced

Oh boy, arrived at the parking garage where Eagle Riders were sorting all their customer out. What a trip, with THE worst taxi driver ever. I mean, come on “I can only drive OR use the sat nav” says our crazy driver who instead stopped at every opportunity to ask directions! Grrr.

Never mind, we finally found it. Chaos!! A group of Chinese were getting sorted for their tour.

Leaving us hanging around for a while waiting for some attention. And then our Trinny Trike turns up. She is a beauty!!

We finally set off for Milwaukee at around 12ish, cue a few dodgy turns and we arrived safe, well and dry (incredibly given the v bad weather warnings!) at the Iron Horse hotel in Milwaukee. Great spot, funky hotel. Just had to go christen the bar!
