North Cave Wetlands

Yesterday I managed to convince Mr Fogg that a visit to see the North Cave Wetlands was a good idea on a warm sunny day. This might have been significantly aided by Kevin also expressing an interest in a walk in nature and fresh air. Two against one, ha!

What a lovely spot. A good path all the way around and plenty of dragonflies and birds (along with an army of pensioners perched in hides with binoculars, cameras and the requisite flasks and sarnies). Pretty cool place for fresh air, birds, nature and peace and quiet.

We saw swans, ducks, geese and birds of prey plus a load of different coloured dragonflies and butterflies.

Pretty!

Returning home it was time to check on the peas. A bumper pick:

Great raw in salad.

Fly Me To The Moon

Little Treasure came to see us this weekend (without hubby who had to work). Food, drink and chillin was the order of the weekend, oh and her surprise birthday prezzie of a trial flight in a glider

Getting ready for the flight, Kevin had to wear a parachute and receive tuition from the instructor on what not to pull “don’t pull the rip cord, for God’s sake” as she is trying to fasten the chute and tugging at the handle labelled “only pull in an emergency”. He also advised that in the event of an emergency, if he shouted “jump, jump, jump” it means he has already left the plane and she was on her own!

We think she had fun.
