A Little Taste of Japan

image1863349139.jpgMrs Foggy and I love Japan and the food especially. York used to have a nice little Japanese restaurant that cooked food to order. Unfortunately this place went belly up.

Happy to announce that this place has reopened now as Tokyo Joe’s and it is wonderful.

Stu and Jen make a point of eating here in May.

A little taste of Japan can be found here.

Sainsbury Go the Extra Mile

Yup our monthly delivery of food turn into a comedy sketch.

Opening the door expecting to hear the friendly footsteps of the click click knock knock brigade, all you could hear was wheels spinning in the mud and a little lady shouting “I’m STUCK”. The poor lady had decided to turn next the grave yard only to find that there is around 6inches of mud.

After an hour of trying to push and roping in the neighbours, it was well and truly buried, so we had to give up.

2 hours later the poor lady is still waiting for the RAC truck to turn up.

Tesco here we come.

Special Needs At the Seaside

image476682141.jpgTwas a cold wintery day as we ventured out along the pier in Bridlington.

Stu decided to walk along the pier wall when we captured this “special” photo.

Fantastic evening at the Elvis world championships, good food, good entertainment and excellent company.

The Elvis Weekender

image1340329479.jpgSo here we are, the Foggies and the Caddies at the Elvis Weekender in Bridlington. Apparently 30,000 people will descend on this town, however if we saw more than 20 people it would be a miracle.

What a hoot of a night watching the world semi finals for Elvis Impersonators.

Elvis is alive and kicking here.

In Lurve

image1382072604.jpgSo this is Mr Foggy, getting slightly mewwy. Mrs Fogg arranged a surprise evening away in a tiny village in the North Yorkshire moors (ah stay on the path and beware of a full moon did spring to mind, especially since we passed a Slaughtered Lamb free house).

We went to Hawnby, with an aptly named The Inn (imaginitive). The rooms were nicely appointed and there was a nice bottle of fizzy stuff waiting too. There was a 6 course meal (one of which did resemble Sheba cat food, as Mrs Fogg so loudly pointed out to all the other diners), but it was a fantastic evening and Mrs Foggy looked a million dollars (as she always does).

It was a wonderful surprise and after 10 years together it is wonderful to be in Lurve with such a wonderful woman.

Soppy bit over with now, back to the humdrum of work, but still got Elvis to look forward to (yes I know he’s dead).

Fank Yu Very Much

image1074560597.jpgSo here is Mr & Mrs Foggy all ready for the Elvis World Championships (UK edition), to be held in Bridlington.

We are off to see 12 UK finalists strut their stuff and decided to go all set for the occasion as our own Foggy Presleys, Uh Ho thank you very much.

It will be a fantastic evening with Stu and Jen joining us for a chuckle.

Look for the pics on the blog.

Redundant!

image1031613249.jpgSo this week I finally got confirmation that I’m officially being made redundant. In fact about four of us are from the company I work for. Although I knew it was coming this is a new experience for me and I’m not impressed. Still, despite the “ok what next” feeling it somehow feels quite good to know there is an end to the current role and an unknown corner to turn. While others around me worry and flounder I find myself quite relaxed and confident that life will always deliver the goods.

Why do I feel this you may ask? Is it Valium or alcohol that clouds reality? Well no actually it is just the recognition that all you really need is someone to share the shit times with and that we truly create our own destinies.

So, when in the future I don my Costa Coffee apron, remind me that I created this little destiny!

So onwards, upwards and bring on the next challenge. I’m ready now.
